Just made my first consultation appointment. I can't believe I am really going to try this. I am so excited. I've done so much research in the last 2 weeks to prepare myself for what's to come. I am so grateful for my husband and his support. He has been amazing already and we haven't even really started yet.
I still have family members to tell about all of this but I figure once I know more about everything then telling them will be easier. Especially my Dad. He will want all information possible. And if he is going to support me, he deserves that.
My Mom already knows and is researching things from her end (two states away). I am sure she will want to know as much as possible and I will give her all the information I receive in my appointment when I see her at Christmas. Only a month away! Well, 6 weeks or so, but still. It's almost here. Thanksgiving is next week. Wow!
I took a full body picture yesterday (actually the Hubs took it) and I am contemplating whether or not to post it. I know I want to be able to look at the picture personally so I can see my progress. Just not sure if I am ready to share it with the world.
Then again, could be great motivation.

Only the beginning...
I started this blog to document my journey from overweight and unhealthy to a happier and healthier version of me. So here goes.
I am 38 years old and decided a few weeks ago that I would begin researching possible weight loss surgery options. I found an awesome web site called http://www.bariatricpal.com/ and began reading and posting on the forums. I have already made some new friends in the Dallas area who are going through similar situations.
At this point, I am still researching my options and intend to make a consultation appointment sometime before the end of the year.
Goals in mind are to finally get back under 200 pounds (achieving the coveted ONE-derland). As of this week, I currently weigh 363. That's at least 164 pounds of weight loss to achieve.
I know I can do this. And I will. I am gathering up a great support system already. My husband is 100% on board and I love him more every day for that. I am still learning a lot about the procedures and the before and after processes.
I hope that those who read this will stick around as I continue to write about the ups (and inevitable downs) of my journey.
Love,
Kimber
